SFW is thrilled to welcome to our runways a striking mixture of fresh designers and past participants.
Internationally acclaimed designer Trina Turk draws her influence from the vibrant culture of Los Angeles, using her keen eye for style to expertly fuse a bohemian aesthetic with jubilant patterns and bold colors. Her signature resort wear designs have been worn by many celebrities including Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Kate Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Alyssa Milano and more. Through her chic women’s ready-to-wear, swim, jewelry, accessories, eyewear and active wear collections, Turk established herself as an iconic fixture in luxury fashion. Following the success of her women’s line, Turk then turned her attention to men’s swimwear and launched Mr. Turk, a collaboration with her husband Jonathan Skow, who is the brand’s primary creative designer.
World renowned designer Nicole Miller began her label after graduating from The Rhode Island School of Design and a degree from l' École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne in Paris. Drawing inspiration from her French heritage Miller’s designs fuse together her art and couture training. Nicole has dressed Hollywood’s top stars including Angelina Jolie, Joss Stone, Jennifer Aniston, Beyoncé, Blake Lively and Eva Longoria among many others.
Based out of the world-renowned LA fashion district, ContessaLA is the collaborative success of designers Anna Sycz and Viridiana Higareda. Inspired by their heritage and world travels, Sycz and Higareda share a vision to create clothing that makes a sophisticated European statement with a seductive Latin flare. Their passion for clothing design and innovation is evident in their work, as their designs embody the essence of the elegant modern woman.
The Mr. Turk line focuses on simple silhouettes and intricate patterns which encompass the quintessential Turk style. Mr. Turk is designed to appeal to men who are daring and aim to be bold with their fashion choices. Skow’s work within the industry transcends fashion design, as he is also a renowned photographer whose work has been featured in Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire and Vanity Fair, to name a few. He is also known for his celebrity portraits which include A-listers Naomi Watts, Alicia Keys, Zac Efron and more.
Salty Mermaid is a label created by best friends Sarah Jon Porreca and Kara Versage in Tampa, Florida. The duo aim to create swimwear that makes women feel empowered and confident from the moment they step into their suit. Since 2016 the label has created luxe suits from fabrics imported from Spain that are immersed in rich colors and paints. By mastering the perfect cut for women of all sizes their flattering suits add character and vibrance to women’s closets. Salty Mermaid also donates a portion of proceeds from every suit purchased to charity, their 2018 collection is partnered with Project Rhino KLN.
Montce Swim was founded by designer Alexandra Grief in 2009. Inspired by her childhood in South Florida and travels in Central America to make a vivacious lively beach look. Grief prides herself on having an ever changing line that is handmade in the USA using the highest quality of materials which include all original designs. The brand has been gaining social buzz by many celebrities including Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski, Jennifer Lopez and many more.

Vitamin A began in 2000 by Amahlia Steven who fuses feminine design with sustainable innovation. The label features Eurolux fabric which is made out of recycled nylon to create a superior luxe fabric. Vitamin A’s swimsuits include detail oriented designs that are inspired by ‘70’s beach glamour along with modern style twists. Vitamin A also separates themselves as a brand that gives back a portion of their proceeds to environmental organizations who aid in the protection of oceans.
Luli Fama swim
Luli Fama Swim is the creation of designer Lourdes “Luli” Hanimian and her brother-in-law Augusto Hanimian. Being born in Cuba and raised in Miami Luli and Augusto draws her inspiration from her past to create swimwear that accentuates the female figure. A fundamental component of originality is apparent in their intricate designs. Through their success the designer duo introduced a brand new eyewear collection to pair with their suits called Eye Candy. Luli Fama has been featured on A-listers including Beyoncé Knowles, Jennifer Aniston, Shakira, and Kate Hudson along with supermodels Adriana Lima, Bar Rafaeli, and Marissa Miller.
Former PGA Tour golfer Travis Johnson was influenced to create his label TravisMathew after growing up in a golfing family. Determined to create quality men’s appeal for golfers Johnson applied a Southern California aesthetic to create a brand that could implement work and play into every look. Since launching in 2007 the brand has gained attention in the sportswear world and has been featured on Sports Illustrated Magazine. In 2008 Johnson teamed up with Chris Rosaasen to expand the brand into apparel and swim which skyrocketed success in the fashion world.
From founding her first shop in London to launching textile designs in Paris, there’s no doubt that Dame Zandra Rhodes “Princess of Punk” is one of the most iconic fashion designers known today. Rhodes has designed for numerous top clients such as Princess Diana, Elizabeth Taylor, ‘Queen’, Paris Hilton, Sarah Jessica Parker, Ashley Olsen and much, much more. It’s no question that Rhode’s brings her glamorous lifestyle through her designs. With her bold prints, feminine patterns and theatrical use of color, this British designer has put London at the forefront of the International fashion scene.
Laurel Dewitt is a one of a kind designer. Known for her metal design outlook and handmade creations, Dewitt has created notable designs that have reached all across the globe. The New York native has made her way through the industry emphasizing her “goddess” look of metallic laced satin dresses and colorful metallic flowers, all of which are entirely hand-cut and hand painted. Sculpting elaborate crowns and headdresses are her passion. Some of her VIP clients that have emphasized this look include Beyoncé, Alicia Keys and Lady Gaga. In addition to her metal look, her new collection features denim jackets, thigh-high slickers, latex body suits, capes and chain gowns. “Some women choose to wear crowns on their heads. Goldsheep is a brand that loves to bring light to raw images and eccentricities that surround us everyday. Goldsheep artist and visionary, Keri Wilson, began the development of Goldsheep on her studio floor in New York City. Amazed by what the city had to offer, she wanted to continue her journey as an artist and create a movement that could blend both art and fashion. His collections express multiculturalism since he combine ethno motives from Africa, Asia, Balkan and South America with a touch of British punk and Hollywood glamour. All of these elements contribute in creating unique designs that fuse modern and traditional.
